Bowness Built is owned and operated by Phil and Taryn Bowness, a husband and wife team. Our aim is simple – a business based on open communication, honesty, integrity and quality workmanship.
Building is Phil’s passion; he is very dedicated and a perfectionist at heart. A licensed building practitioner with over 16 years in the industry, Phil ensures each build meets his own high standards – an assurance that your home will be completed on schedule and finished to an exceptional level.
Phil completed his apprenticeship through a highly reputable local company before working overseas on a wide range of projects. If you are thinking of an architectural build on a hill site, light commercial, residential home or unit, renovation and alterations, or interior fit-out, Phil has the experience and know-how for the job.
Taryn takes care of all the administration services, combining her decade in the customer service industry with excellent organisation and communication skills. Teamwork underlies the Bowness Built project management style, with Taryn and Phil’s shared expertise ensuring a memorable customer experience.
As a team, Phil and Taryn raise 3 young children and grow Bowness Built together. Communication is a key element in our building process – we take a personal approach right from the very first meeting through to the final handover. We work hard to exceed expectations so you will remember the build for all the right reasons.
Bowness Built is committed to providing ongoing training for our staff, who regularly attend courses to ensure they are up to date with the latest trends and techniques. As members of Hazard Co we also recognise the importance of health and safety on the building site.

The Bowness Built team recently finished constructing a double garage on our section, adjacent to the house, and we are really pleased with it. It looks fantastic. Phil took time and care to ensure that the metal tile roof on the garage was a good colour match to the concrete tiles on our house, and the bricks are a perfect match. Phil and Taryn have been fantastic to deal with throughout the build and their communication has been excellent. They always let us know when we could expect tradesmen on site and kept us in the loop if there were any changes. If we build anything else we will certainly use them again and if any of our friends are thinking of building we would feel absolutely confident in recommending they contact Bowness Built.
